    Default A Historic cattleya skinneri X ??

Hi all ! I got a few Cattleyas from a very old collector in India. The Plants were collected between the past 100 -50 years ago during the "British Raj" by a very rich Parsi collector. I got a few dieing plants from them as all members of the once wealthy clan have expired or are well over 80 years old and can't take care of the plants their ancestors left behind, indeed sad. I nursed back the cattleyas for the past 4 years, and Cattleyas being resilient they have bounced back and are blooming. The name on this one said Cattleya Skinnerii X. I will be very glad if anyone can identify this old plant.

The first three pics are from one plant while the fourth is from another plant which also looks to be the same.

Well done Amey for the acquisitions. They do look like skinneri. Look at the base of the pseudobulbs and if they are quite slim, then they are skinneri but if they are bulbous then they could be bowringiana as they booth look almost alike.
