My wife asked for a display of flowers in the hall - visitors expected, and very little in the way of flowers to cut from the open garden after a good frost a few days ago ( it's turned milder again now with gales sweeping along the English Channel - and I'm a mile from the beach) . So I sorted out these plants, waited for break in the clouds, arranged them just outside the greenhouse, and took this snap, before hurrying them into the house and going in search of some ferns, ornamental-leaved begonias etc, to complete the arrangement.
It's a pity there is no really clean white Ascda, and of course blues are always a bit purple-ish, but otherwise there is such a wide colour range, and they are a bit more easily usable than the big strap-leaved Vandas some of which get to be 2 feet wide and 3 feet high. It's my impression that new breeding here ( what one might call novelty smaller vanda types ) has tailed off in recent years, apart from a recent effort to get spotted plants - a pity, I am sure there is still some way to go to realise potential.
Very clear and beautiful like orchid fair.
Wonderful!! Your wife is a lucky woman.
Very nice show Geoff.

Your guests must have been impressed! I no I certainly am! Such colors. Amazing horticulture Geoff!
Great display! Love the yellow and burgundy spottys. The orange is my favorite. Or maybe the purple with the nose rings... LOvely ALL!!
Hi Geoff ! That must have been a stunning display !!! Very classy colour combination. Have a look at my Ascocenda Muang Thong, it is one of the most pure whites you can get.
