Rather than Yellow Bird or Sunny Delight, I think the flowers in both pictures may be Bc. (or Brassanthe) Bill Worsley (B. nodosa x Gur. aurantiaca). Yellow Bird normally has a more heart-shaped lip like nodosa and usually has prominent spots. Sunny Delight typically has a flatter lip.

[Further to my comments yesterday, Yellow Bird is B. nodosa x Bc. Richard Mueller, hence the heavier spotting in the lip from Richard Mueller. Sunny Delight is C. aurantica x B. perrinii ( no spotting in either parent ). Refer to my Sunny Delight with this note and my Yellow Bird at the bottom of the page.]

In the pic the lips is very different from the ones in my pic. I'm not too sure. Another comparison was made between the 2 plants is the height of the plant. If the plant and flower is small (less than 6 cm) its higher chance to be sunny delight. If it grows over 10cm, its more likely to be yellow bird.

Anyway, I'm rally baffled right now. Same feeling when someone told me that Vanda miss joaquim is Papillionanthe Miss Joaquim,

    Cheers

Vincent, I am glad Buckie and Horst taught you so much in such a short period of time. Now perhaps you should give them some credit too and you really also should tell them it isn't your plant and the plant and flower meadurement info that you gave them are not of the plant on photo. LOL! I know this gets old but I don't understand why you are having such a difficulty to admit it is not your plant on forums, especially when people ask for additional info or photos.
Hey, I am still waiting for plant photo of "your" Den. unicum that you promised me weeks ago.

    Hey,

I have absolutely no difficulty that the plant is not mine. I am not that cheap to take credits on plant grown by others.

In the other site, I did said that name of the plant in the picture is my guess and i made that guess because of another plant I had. The additional info on the height is true. I even made an additional trip to check the measurement which also blew me a couple of bucks for the entrance fee.

As for the Den unicum, I do have the plant but it is not flowering, do you think I should send you the photo I took in the nursery instead?

Yeah, when are you going to say that out loud? It seems you are taking all the credits if you can unless someone points it out. You even avoid the subject if you can.

I am really baffled that you might think that I claim credits for those plants. If anyone wants to know, I will even tell them the exact location where I got them.

My sole purpose to post the pics is the share the plants I see around me, not to publish MY plants. I do not have the luxury of space to grow all the orchids I can find nor do I have the time but I do get to see a lot of orchids around me. That is why I carry a point and shoot around all the time.

This is getting too much. I think that I will stop posting any more pics in this site to avoid any more misunderstanding.

Anyway, if you really want to force it down that I want to claim credit, so be it. If you think you doubt my character, i cannot stop you. In the end, its my intention and not yours to question.

I hope it helps to appease you, Tom. Have a good day.

BD: you might want to remove all my threads, i do not really care.

For the rest of the forummers : I'm sorry to have you hear me rant.

Vincent, are you a student/kid? Not that it matters...
What makes you think BD should spend time removing all your threads when you decide to leave this forum? This is not a ball park where you can just take your ball home when you decide not to play with other kids. That "I don't really care" attitude doesn't get you anywhere, kido!

It seems you care about what people may "misunderstand" you but you don't care what you may mislead people. How odd is that! When people say "good growing, yours is a nice clone..." but the plant isn't yours and you don't say anything to clarify that. I have explained why it is necessary to state the ownership of the plant. One thing for sure, I would not ask someone for culture advice if that person has no growing experience.

It is very simple to solve the problem here. All you have to do is to state the ownership of the plant at the beginning and give some credits to others who are well deserved. You don't need to do anything dramatic to appease me. Throwing in the towel is not the best choice in this situation unless you are so thin-skinned. Internet forum isn't for thin-skinned people if I may say!
