I love this colorful hybrid. Orignally Epilaeliocattleya (Cattleya x Epidendrum x Laelia), the current registration is Epicatanthe (Cattleya x Epidendrum x Guarianthe). Mantinara (Cattleya x Epidendrum x Sophronitis x Guarianthe) was used briefly when many species of "Laelia" were considered "Sophronitis". Those species are all "Cattleya" now for registration purposes.

Thank you Kirk! Mine is still labeled Epicat. I googled to see what the new name was before posting, I guess I chose the wrong one LOL

As always I like bold colors and I am a sucker for yellows and spots. Ron may I ask, how many orchids do you think you have? I know you have probably answered this question before, but I am amazed at the diversity of your collection so I am interested.

Lovely ! This plant is quite expressive, as in it immediately reflects its state, if its well cared for it will have many flowers on the new growth and if given less light and fertilizer, then the growth will be smaller and less flowers.
As against this I have seen some dying Cattleyas and Phals blooming so beautifully to death. Whatever the taxonomists call them, they are beautiful !
