    Default Vanda species

Got it from Indochina the size nearly about 2 inches never seen before, fragrant( so sweet) especially early in the morning till 10 to 11 am. The lip similar like denisoniana brunnea, fuscovirdis. Any idea what it is ? Very tricky especially there are so many variations among the same species depending on their location. Thanks Zain.

This is a lovely Vanda Zainal. Its hard to tell exactly what it is. To me, as a guess, I would link it to a form of V.denisoniana.

    Thanks Roy.
    Point towards denisoniana:
    -lip similar
    -color yellow with stripes
    -shape

    Point against denisoniana:
-no night smell as part of species characteristic
-perfume strong early in the morning and disappear at 11 am

Had similar denisoniana with different sizes and colors in my collection all shared the same smell at night.

Zainal, the smell at night is interesting, its been a while since I flowered my denis' so I can't remember a smell at night. Might be a natural hybrid.

Roy, well the possibility of hybrids is there 50 % 50%, recently I heard they discovered new species of vanda from Laos the plants are intermediate sizes and tall, they already sent the flower to Kew Garden for the investigation and ID. Anyway may be one day somebody can give the ID if this is species or hybrids. Thanks Zain.
