Default Blc. Nancy Preiss and Blc. George

I was visiting in Palm Beach last weekend (trying to get warm),silly me, it was 31 there. Anyway decided I needed a pick-me-up so I went to one of the local Orchid houses and lucky me, the lady that owns the place also does her own hybridizing. So here is one of her creations.By the way it's fragrant!

This second one is also one of hers. There was no tag and she told me that things got blown about in one of the hurricanes (how well I understand that) and along with her orchid lab some of the tags disappeared. She is planning on rebuilding her lab soon. I wish her God-speed with that! So here is another of her creations, she told me I could call it George(for whatever reason, I have no idea why) I wish my camera could capture the true beauty of this one. The petals are a soft pink while the lip is a very deep rose color! This is also fragrant!

Both are lovely! You found some great orchids, even if you did not get warm!

Do you suppose George is a George King cross? I like them both!

I have no idea Cindi. I kind of thought it was her hubby's name(who came in to the greenhouse as I was leaving, but didn't get his name) and I asked her if I should use the last name also and she said no, just Blc.George. Hmmmmmmmm.
It was my first trip to an orchid house and I was really impressed, there were thousands of orchids and lots of fragrance. My daughter bought 6 orchids (all fragrant) and I bought the 2 shown above. Addiction runs in the family.

Both are really pretty, Mary. I just have one question: How on Earth did you let your daughter get more orchids than you did?? hahaha Seems like a challenge to me! hahah..

    Cheers,

Interesting question Bruce. I saw her with one orchid and then I went to the back of the house and when I finally got to the checkout there she was, checking out 6 orchids. That's the last time I go treasure hunting with her! She just had to show me how it was done I guess.
