2x Dendrobium NOID

    Default 2x Dendrobium NOID

    This two Dendrobium like a same, but mine is with the blue lip




    and here i have one photo like the same, but the lip is red


    Can enyone help me with the name?

    Awesome colour and blue is such a rarity in dendrobiums. Looks like it could be from the Oxyglossum section of dendrobium, possibly Den violaceum from Papua New Guinea. Remember seeing something like it grown by someone in the Cameron Highlands at altitude 5000ft. If it is then definitely a cool growing type.

    Oxyglossum ist OK, but violaceum have another canes and leaves.
    May be putnamii, parvulum...?

    Looked up IOSPE and you may be right - it does look like a putnamii with those pseudobulbs - only yours seem to have much bluer colour.

    A remarkable deep blue color with that equally remarkable red center. Great form and I even like the fleshy jade like leaves on this orchid. Thank you for posting these! AL

    I think this is probably dendrobium putnamii as was suggested. Here it is on Jays site: IOSPE PHOTOS

    and here is the photo:



    Not quite a blue as yours, but I think that is probably more the photographer than the orchid.
