First flowering of this (presumably ) meristem plant. Not large - but then they wouldn't be, would they, not for a first flowering. But such a lovely colour . I know that the colour you see on your monitor screen depends on so many things, and colour is difficult to show truly anyway - serious photographers using the 'net will be aware that many shades simply canot be shoiwn on the screen anyway - what is it, 860 colours can be shown, and no morte ? Something like that. Photo buffs will appreciate that the colour needed is simply "out of gamut" at times.
Whatever. This is not a true blue, and its tnot the usual purply blue/red of the typical V.Rothschildiana ; maybe because its a much more solid colour, and that too doesn't show up too accurately - hey, if you want to see it, why no just drop by - the coffe pot is always on the hob...
Flowers about 9cm, and good texture - three out, one to come. Size can also bejudged 'cos its in a six inch pot.

It may not be a 'true blue', but it is still a wonderful first blooming. AL

Wow! I didn't think you could grow Vanda's so well in pots. It is so healthy and beautiful. I thought they would only grow well bare rooted and I don't like all those roots hanging, so I never tried one. You have inspired me!

Might be best to look into their culture requirements first, Laurie. They not only need watering everyday, but need direct sunlight all day except at high noon...Betty :-)
