    Default Cattleya aurantiaca (Guarianthe)

Hi I am so exited, my Cattleya aurantiaca finally decided to bloom, this is the first bloom for the this plant. The flowers look very nice in form and colour, which is deep orange. This is the second Cattleya species to bloom for me. I don't know why but it is more exciting to see species bloom than hybrids, not that I enjoy the species more than the hybrids, but for hybrids I always think, yeah they will bloom sometime or the other LOL, not the same for the species. Enjoy the blooms.

Amazing photos, Amey! Love the vibrant orange color on this orchid. The darker orange spots in the center really set it off too.

    Cheers,

Thanks Janet and Bruce, photos are all thanks to my sister who is a pro photographer. I keep sending her links to pictures from the internet and also from this forum and ask her to click similar photos.

Those are eye-catching for sure! Great job! I am beginning to bloom a few species as well...and I agree, it is very rewarding.

So beautiful.I agree with you Amey about blooming species being more exciting especially my paphs. BTW my Paph stonei will open in a couple of days for the first time. Just can't contain my excitement after waiting for more than a year since it threw out its sheath.
