    Default Dendrobium from Indochina

I wondering is this dendrobium is synonym, some of the articles said they are the same species but to me they have a lots lots of different. Here I show you Dendrobium primulinum (yellow throat), Dendrobium polyanthum and Dendrobium cretaceum the last 2 photos, by looked at the cane very difficult to differentiate 3 of them. Just for discussion to find the true.

I wish I could help, Zain. You always post such nice photos of beautiful plants. I can only say how beautiful these orchid blooms are. And that Devan hit the nail on the head with that description of the last orchid -'moonlit snow'- so true.

    Cheers,
    BD

I think both D. primulianum and polyanthum are the same specie. D. primulianum always produce a single flower on each node, and the color on the lip is just genetic variation. Also once the leaf are gone, all have similar tranlucent shealthing on the cane with prominent fibers. Many Den. species like pendulum, bensonae, findayanum etc. has different marking on the lip, ex. yellow throat and lip with or without ocular maroon disks.

Some primulianum has longer thinker canes, while onthers has shorter fatter ones. Its just variation due to culture habitat. Den. tent to produce thicker and shorter canes under higher light warmer condition and longer and thinner canes under shade. Other than based on lip color, and cane diffrenences, no one has yet to confirm with DNA testing.
