While checking I came across what must be the most complex cross - an octo(?)generic Statterara (Sat) = Broughtonia x Cattelya x Caularthron x Encyclia x Laelia x Prosthechea x Rhyncholaelia x Sophronitis. 8 genera!!!!! I googled but can't find that cross. Does anyone know of this cross?
Statterara no longer exists. The one cross that used that genus is now called Warasara Pamelyn because Sophronitis is considered Cattleya for registration - so down to 7 genera. Also, it did not include Prosthechea. The species involved was Psychilis bifida. It appears the somewhere along the line someone confused Psy. (Psychilis) and Psh. (Prosthechea).

I think there are some octogeneric hybrids in the Vanda alliance though.

Also, if anyone cares, the plant in this thread is still Stellamizutaara (Stlma.). That hasn't changed.
