Unfortunately pure renantheras are slow growers and shy bloomers - 3 times a year here is considered good - Kagawaras and Renantandas are free flowering but, attractive as they are in their own right, they don't look like renantheras in form and almost all don't have that blood red colour so typical of Ren storeii and coccinea. In this particular cross the Rhynchostylis gigantea has somehow contributed to its robustness and free flowering quality without substantially changing its flower shape and colour. Judging from the old spikes, all of which seem to come from only one side of the plant ( I mentioned this in a precious post) and the present blooms I would say that this particular plant would bloom every 2 months on the average.

All of the pictures are GREAT, Yew, but I loved the last one which showed the streaks of white in the lip...Sooooooo pretty! Betty :-)

Well bought then Yew SUng! So important to look at the history of the plant i.e its flowering history! Im sure it cost u a pretty penny though.

One of the most beautiful orchids I have seen in a long time. Amazing color and form. I bet this one could be awarded. Outstanding!

    Cheers,
    BD
