Very beautiful flowers Geoffrey! This species spikes from the base of the plant, rather than forming a sheath, am I right?

    Hey Gabi,
Yes, this particular cattleya does send it's spikes from the base of the plant. Thanks too for your comments...have a great day!

    Hey Halloamey,
With this particular cattleya, you must give it a dry rest for about 4 months. Once it begins to send out it's inflorescence in the spring, begin to water and fertilize slowly, increasing with each watering. After blooming, cut the spike and keep it on the moist and humid side. It's shriveled pseudobulbs should begin to plump back up.

    Yes Andre,
I grow mine mounted on cork. Does quite well as it likes to dry out between waterings.
