    Default Renantheras in my collection..

I thought I had shown R.monachica recently, but since I couldn't find a pic in my "recently posted" file on my own PC I guess I'm mistaken. If not, at leasat this is different in showing most of the 30 or so flowers out on the two spikes. Plant has only about 4 pairs of leaves, and I note that the top leaf is black on the upper side ( light ?) which perhaps accounts for my sucess in flowering this species which is supposed to be difficult because it needs so much light.
However it hangs from an overhead wire, and a little further along hanging from the same wire, but much nearer the glass, since it is a much taller plant is Renanthera storei - and as you will see ( I didn't get it down to take the pic) , all the leaves on that one are green.
Curious, But then the leaves are not only different colours but different structures too - R storei has relatively thin leathery leaves, R monachica has short narrow thick almost terete leaves.

Very beautiful ! The reds are classics but the spotted monachica is also brilliant.
