Default Mini vandaceous - Asctm miniatum hybrids

I have a few Ascocentrum miniatum hybrids and these plants are small by vanda standards. 2 are blooming at the moment - the yellow Ascorachnis Shah Alam City and a new hybrid Asct Sagarik Gold(miniatum x curvifolium x Paraphalenopsis serpentifolium. I have posted pictures of the former when I first bought it but this time the flowers seem to be more intensely coloured. Yellow beetles hae already got to a few of the flowers. The latter cross is very interesting as it combines ascocentrum with the terete leaved paraphalaenopsis resulting in it having semi-terete leaves and the orange-red colour of Asctm curvifolium.

Both the plants are small - the Ascorachnis is 10 inches tall and the other is 4 inches tall. Size of flowers ; the Ascorachnis is 1 1/2 inches (4cm) and the orange flowers 1 inch(2.4cm).

I love the vandaceous types as you may know Yew. These look like marvelous Ascocentrum's and the compact size is a advantage to a lot of people with limited space. The flower size and vivid colors matter the most of course and these seem to be winners in both categories from my perspective. AL

Should be the same as any orchid shows/exhibitions or maybe even better (might be able to cut off some keikis before hitting home).

Haha. Thanks Jonada and Seet Mei.Actually I don't confine myself to a few types of orchids but try to grow as wide a variety as possible. Though my main interests are in cattelyas and vandaceous types, I also have a fair number of paphs, dendrobiums and various local species. I don't have that many orchids but I do post quite regularly.

They are lovely and so tiny. You can have much more orchids when they do have that size.
