I agree with lahua, seems to be an Ascd., and I doubt that it is an Asctm. primary hybrid.

I beg to disagree with you and Mietek. While the leaves are definitely not like miniatum they resemble those of curvifolium, the other parent of Asctm Sagarik Gold. The whole plant - the arrangement of the leaves, the form of the plant- is typically curvifolium. Most of The Asctm Sagarik Gold have yellow flowers like the the Thai miniatum and the size of the flowers are pretty close to that of its curvifolium parent. This cross was made by Prof R Sagarik himself and registered by him in 1966. Geoff has admitted he did buy a plant of miniatum x curvifolium.
In the 1960s Prof Sagarik was actively involved in the collecting, propagating of Thai species. His enthusiasm and dedication was such that it infected the whole Thai community and resulted in the search, collection, propagation and preservation of Thai species. He embarked upon a concerted search for the different forms/varieties of ascocentrums, rhynchostylis [I]gigantea, vandopsis, vanda esp coerulea etc. His involvement with Rhyn gigantea and V coerulea is the stuff of which legends are made. In Thailand almost everyone knows 'Chang Deng' (gigantea) and 'Faa Mui' (coerulea). There are many primary vandaceous hybrids made by Prof Sagarik and bearing his name too.
