    Default Ascocenda NOID

I picked this up a while back and it had no tag on it and I was informed that it was an Ascocenda. Its a really free flowering plant and has already given me 3 spikes in the short time that I have purchased it. If you notice in the 1st picture, there is a new spike to the left of the blooms. It might have something to do with the fact that I have been dosing the plant with lots and lots of water, organic and non organic fertiliser and the hot spell we had in West Malaysia recently. Would really appreciate it if any of you know what its called.

Oh yes, as usual, the flowers are actually a dark purple although my camera has been unable to capture it...

As a guess, I would suggest this is a Vascostylis Pine Rivers, great flowering too.

Thanks for the info Roy, it certainly looks like it, which means I got lied to! Wonder if anyone else has any other opinions?

Now if I could get two spikes to flower at the same time, I might win some shows!

Gavin all I can say is what rich, beautiful spikes you have got there. I hope and I bet you get your two spikes flowering at the same time! AL

I don't know the name, but I like the flowers. Also there are so many of them.

I think it's a Vascostylis - most likely Vasco Pine Rivers as Roy suggested; and a very fine one too.
