    These are lovely. I have one small encyclia that gave me one flower this spring. It has lasted for several weeks already and still looks fresh and new. I think this is a family I'll have to get more of. Betty, your are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks, Patty...I believe that they would do very well for you in your area. Don't forget that encyclias like to dry out between waterings. They also do well mounted as well as potted...if you want to try one that is one of my favorites, try the cordigera. beautiful blooms, long lasting and wonderful fragrance! Betty :-)

    Thanks, Betty - I'll look out for a cordigera. Drying out is not a problem - I usually have to go to extra lengths to keep moisture in (adding sphag to the mix, for instance), so I'll just keep my encyclias in regular bark. Oops, I notice I'm already speaking in plural - guess I'd better start looking for some more to keep up with my posts. Thanks again for the info and encouragement.
