    Beautiful hybrid dendrobium!! The formosae dendrobiums are always so nice. As for the name, some of these have green veins running along the petals and sepals, which give the petals and more green look to them.. Regardless this is such a nice dendrobium.

    I agree. The first 2 days after the flowers bloom there is a definite green cast over the tepals but this colour disappears soon after, however. the green veins remain, thus the name. Viewed against the light the orange centre seems to glow and the green veins become more pronounced. I think I'll post a picture of my Den Green Lantern to show the distinct green veins later.

    BTW I agree the name Green Lantern is rather fanciful.
