    Default Laelia gouldiana-MOUNTED

Here is yet another new aquisition from the monthly meeting......cool and dry were the instructions, and apparently, like L. anceps, these can even survive moderate frosts.

Put it this way for size: each brick is aprox 20cm long x 7cm wide. The plant has two spikes, each aprox 40cm long, i will post when the next one opens-maybe in total about 20 blooms?

Beautiful blooms and great mount. That's right -- it's late fall in New Zealand! I have a gouldiana that blooms reliably in November. Three spikes --you'll a nice display for weeks!

Thanks Eric, I think the combonation of parents who (reluctantly) give up their fridges (one fridge, one freezer), the kitchen table, and the corner unit in the lounge, and really nice, caring people throughout NZ and the Waikato OS, means my collection is ever expanding! i think though, i might settle on Dendrobium and Cattleya alliances as well as the occasional Oncidium or weirdo.

Jordan, That is one beautiful Laelia! The shape of the flower and the graceful arch of the inflorescence...Good eye for the acquisitions!
