    Default Dendrobium Green Lantern

I didn't want to post pictures of this Den Green Lantern as our posts have been flooded with pictures of them recently, as well as pictures of other Dawn Maree crosses. Also I know that some growers think that the name is a misnomer or at best, too fanciful.

Den Green Lantern is Den Dawn Maree x cruentum. When the flowers first open there is a greenish cast over the petals and sepals which later fades away and the green veins become quite apparent. Seen against the light these green veins are quite prominent - but whether these green veins justify naming it Green Lantern.........The influence of cruentum can be seen in the shape and the greenish cast and veins. The flower is also smaller than Dawn Maree or formosum.

Sorry SP, as I mentioned in the post, I thought that there were just too many Green Lanterns being posted and I was sure most would be fed up seeing pictures of it.

I am glad Yew that you got such a good close up photo of these flowers to show distinctly the green veins. It makes me appreciate the blooms that much more. AL
