Default Aerides Houlletiana (First Spike In Bloom).

This orchid actually has two spikes with 26 buds/blooms total. The spike with most of the buds is just starting to open today. Up close at anytime it smells of lemons. In the evening the fragrance wafts through the entire greenhouse (small though it is). Will post photos of both in flower spikes soon. AL

I am going to get a seedling. Heard they grow a little cooler compared to other aerides. Can you tell me what are the conditions that you provide to them?

I water this Aerides daily, fertilize weekly with 1/2 tsp. MSU fertilizer. Bright light with a little direct sun. Humidity runs 50% to 65% average, sometimes a little higher in July and August. Temps. of 68 degrees F. as a low overnight, 85 to 90 degrees F. as a high this time of year. In winter a low of 65 degrees F. and a high of 75 degrees or so. Thanks for looking in. AL

I need this orchid! I love lemon so a fragrant orchid that smells of lemon is one that must go on my wish list. Needless to say you had me at 26 buds/blooms... hahaha...

    Cheers,
