Maureen, who? Gavin. I told you it was before your time. Arlene Dahl, then. Never heard of her either? What about Lorenzo Lamas?

I really can't see Rhonda Fleming, Maureen O'hara, or other starlets of yesteryear slepping stuff over the Andes, but Lorenzo Lamas and his woolly crew were just recently spotted near Lima, Peru. By the way isn't that the place Lima beans come from? AL

Beautiful orchid flowers and beautiful women seem to go together nicely enough. I will add though and had originally planned to add how wonderful this Cattleya quadricolor truly is and of course it's naming was perfect. Still I must admit that this thread was thought provoking and fun at the same time. AL

First off, I'd like to apologise to Horst and the others for hijacking the thread. I must reiterate here that the flower is very pretty. As to whether a judge would fault it for its shape, I would say that any judge worth his salt, would take into consideration its genetics and give due weightage to this and award points accordingly.
Second, this is absolutely the last( not about orchids) on beautiful women, Hollywood of yore, 4 legged llamas, 2 legged lamas and manes of every hue and colour. Lorenzo Lamas is the son of Fernando Lamas, one time Hollywood heartthrob, and actress Arlene Dahl, one time one of the most beautiful women in the world. He was from Argentina. I mentioned Lorenzo just to be more current as he is B-Grade action movie star. I hope this will clear the confusion over woolly, hairy and bald (l)lamas. Knowing our members I'm afraid we'll soon be sighting lamas not only from Peru and the Andes, but form the Himalayas to the Tibetan Plateau. As I have mentioned, this is absolutely the last. I won't respond even if a yak or Abomidable Snowman turns out to be a lama.
