    Beautiful colors, Jeffrey. Though I had to be a wet blanket .... are you sure that isn't colorbreak on several of the petals?

    Color break is when colors (splotches or streaks) show up where they shouldn't. For example, the dorsal sepal in the last picture -- notice the splotch of red on the right hand side of the sepal. Or in the first picture, the flower at the 7 o'clock position -- the left petal has coloration not found in the others. Cattleyas tend to be rather symmetric with their color scheme. Color break is often, though not always, indicative of a virus.
