    Default Rhycostylis retusa

This is my second blooming in this season. I managed to flowered with just one spike around Jan-Feb and it surprise me by blooming during summer again (retusa is normally a fall-winter bloomer) with two spikes. On the sad note, both my gigantea spikes blasted. Hopefully it wouldn't do that again on it second flowering. =(

Sorry about your orchid spikes blasting on your Rhy. gigantea orchids. On the upside, the blooms on these two orchid spikes are incredible!

    cheers,

Beautiful!!! I just got mine bloomed, too. Could you please share what type of media you use for the plant? I haven grown mine in a pot. Once it is done blooming, I was thinking to repot with either wooden basket or net plastic pot.

These are such little beauties. I've been looking for one locally, and as soon as its located, it'll be hanging out front in the palm tree!
    Cheers,

I use plastic basket with some winebottle corks/large chunk of barks with a few spragnum moss. All my vandas are either in plastic/wood basket or clay pot with moss in it. The weather here is too dry and the furnice indoor pretty much suck out all the moisture so, i found it all my vandas are pretty happy that way.

Love it. I like the way the blooms hang down. That must be a pretty sight when they hang in a basket.
