    Default Euanthe sanderiana season

So here is it. Waling-waling/Sanderiana's all over the Philippines are sending out their spike and blooms these days.

    Here's mine

Previous bloomer (2 months ago - earlier than usual season blooming)

    And my current in bloom

Hope that my four remaining sanderiana will send an spike too. Thanks for looking.

Oh I love it...as I told you I have one that I bought in bloom a couple of years ago. It did not bloom for me last year. I'm hoping this fall I will have a spike.

Someone in the nursery told me you can artificially induce flowering on sanderiana by allowing plant to experience "rainfall like" (meaning you have to mist it just like being exposed to rain) for two to three weeks but taking care not to be over-watered. But I'm not sure if this is true because I personally haven't tried it yet.

I would try anything. I think shortening days triggers blooms?

hmm Not sure about short/long days but I think it's the temperature that triggers them.

Very pretty vanda blooms. I think I remember reading that this orchid requires an almost consistent temperature and very high humidity. Do not let it dry out very much between waterings or you will not see blooms.

    cheers,
    BD
