Default Ascda Sueless x Kultana Beauty

A very unusually bright Ascda - and once again slightly deformed flowers ; no excuse about yellow or white here -some cultural thing which affected many of my plants at the same time perhaps ? But not all - see the blue Vanda which I post next.
Not large - maybe 3-4cm flowers. But the colour shown on my monitor seems quite true ; in fact I thought I must have a second plant of Kagawaara Kultana Red when I caught sight of it ( the actual plant of thatr cross is just going over), But no, this is what it is. I can't think of any Ascda this colour, although hybrids including a shot of Renanthera blood get near it. When I have a moment I must look up the genealogy.

Nice. They are small, but never the less very pretty. I like the color.

Geoff, love the color. Isn't it 'peloric' form?

Hey Geoff, I checked both RHS and OrchidWiz, and neither parent showed up. There is an Ascda. Kultana, but it's a V. coerulea hybrid with a minimal amount of Asctm. curvifolium. Is this by any chance one of the plants you imported from Thailand? Really nice red; I'm not sure peloric Ascocendas would catch on.

Great red color on this red vanda type orchid. Does it always bloom peloric like this or is this the first time?

    Cheers,
    BD

I have a similar orchid Geoff. Same color, size, and shape. Don't know its exact ID but I'm pretty sure there's some ascocenda in it.
