    Default S - M - L Cattelyas in bloom

Been away for the holidays in our highlands apartment for 10 days to escape the debilitating heat of the lowlands and to recharge the old batteries.I had to cut all the booms from the orchid plants so as not to tempt any thieves while we were away. I was pleasantly surprised when we returned and found many plants in bloom. One big surprise was Blc King of Taiwan. I wasn't even aware that it was budding! I have found that the large dark lavender cattelyas are the hardest to bloom in my place.

Blc King of Taiwan 'Da Hsin' is one of the largest and most beautiful lavenders from Taiwan. This one measures 7 1/2 inches but people have told me that in Taiwan it is not uncommon to see dinner-plate sizes of up to 9 inches. The yellow is Blc Alma Kee 'Tipmalee' a very free bloomer and the little one is Bc Little Mermaid.

And a picture of the wife with the flowers we had to cut before we left for the holidays.

So beautiful. Really love them all. Sorry that you have to worry about them being stolen. So sad people can't let others enjoy a hobby/passion without our having to worry that the plants will be stolen of destroyed. Again such beautiful orchids.
