Ok, just googled & it looks like a made up or misspelled name. There is a cross with it & loddigesii but that doesn't help either. Thanks anyway.

Roy, I don't know the parentage but the name pops out in a Google search. Mine came unlabelled, I got the name from Google.

Maura, it really is easy. Grown slightly brighter than phals, blooms on ever new bulb without fail (no bud blast) and forms nice clumps with multiple growths. On the whole, I find minicatts easier than standards.
Does that take into account the climate in the mid-southern US? It's too hot here to grow them outside during the summer, pretty nice for most orchids during late Sept through November, but come beginning of November there's a frost danger, so in they go again. I notice you grow outside - mine are half in/half out - on either side of indirect light, south-facing sliding glass doors. And from late November until probably early March, nearly all my orchids will have to be inside - it can go down to zero Fahrenheit here for days. Thus, my dilemma. A glass conservatory would be nice, but hardly likely to be offered by my apartment complex!
