Default Blc. Guanmiau City - A very sad day

Tragedy struck today. I have been patiently waiting for this to open up. Three buds in one big sheath. Some how the weight of the flowers must have broken the stem.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that. I know that having them as cut flowers is not the same, but they sure do look lovely.

I have almost had that happen to me...Had to stick a metal rod into the media...one with a "C" shape at the top to hold the end of the stem next to the flower group. Without this, I'm sure that my orchids' stem would have broken also. Don't feel too bad, though. Your orchid cluster is spectacular, and will last a long time...Betty

So Sorry about the mishap. Happens to the best among us.
The bloom is beautiful, I can hardly imagine the size it would have been had it not snapped.
    Cheers

Oh, I sorry that the stalk broke off, but the flowers look beautiful nonetheless, next time try supporting them early on.

I actually tried to support them but the sheath that held them was so big I couldn't figure how to support it as it wasn't completely opened. I have supported three others that are in bud and will do any others that develop. I confess to being a newbie but I'm trying to learn.

I really love the color! Simply lovely! Thank you for sharing the photo with us. I'm sorry for the tragedy. Hopefully, you'll figure out a way to support it next time.
