Default Vanda Fuchs Fuchsia x Vanda Dr. Anek

This is a first time bloomer of a yet unregistered hybrid according to RHS. I got it as a small Vanda seedling in April 2009. The flowers are really beautiful and the colour is really nice. For a first time bloomer it has a nice flower number (two spikes) and size. I am really happy with the plant, but just wanted to mention an observation, as I always do I checked out the parents they are both beautiful but soo very similar, I really do not see the point of crossing these, anyone has any idea about it, perhaps it has something to do with the culture??

The entire plant with the two spikes

Really beautiful blooms on a very healthy plant. 2 spikes on a first bloomer is excellent - and maybe that answers your question i.e. to fix the desirable characteistics and increase the vigour(?).
