It is a Phillipines species I believe, so if any of our members from that part of the world can give me any tips, I'll be grateful.
What I know is that this particular dendrobium grows and thrives well in the cooler parts of our country in the mountains up north where there is plenty amount of rain during the growing period and then having a 2-4 month drier period during the cooler months from November-December although humidity must be maintained. These love bright light. I have a rather difficult time growing this particular species here in lowland Manila where it is warm. Perhaps some of my countrymen who are members here and coming from the highlands up north of the Philippines can give better advice?

Well, there is one thing we don't have difficulty with in England, and thats providing coolness ! Can't remember the last time it was hot, I don't think we actually had any day this year when the shade temperature exceeded 25 deg, here where I live, and precious few days got anywhere near it.

hi geoff, i'm not sure if you have a phal philippinense and schilleriana which will surely bloom greatly in your place. btw...i think i have this dendro specie as well. plant is similar to yours and is not blooming...my place is not cold enough i guess since i can't make the philippinense and schilleriana to bloom as well.

At the moment I don't have any phal species at all, but coincidently I bought about 7 different species only yesterday . All 'young plants' and it remains to be seen how big they are when they arrive. I am going to grow them all on cork slabs.
But as to the den species, see the useful info in one reply , it s found at 1000 metres on Luzon.which makes it cooler rather than warmer, I guess, more suitable for my conditions than might have been thought.

you're right there geoff as i'm in the lowland. let us know what are those phal species and if a philippine specie. you'll surely won't be having problems blooming them since most phals likes your condition to bloom.
