Encyclia Cochleata Alba

This is a discussion on Encyclia Cochleata Alba within the Cattleyas, Vandas, Dendrobiums IN BLOOM forums, part of the Orchid Photography category; I think that this is the wrong id for this can anyone confirm?...

    It seems correct to me-it is indeed an alba form of the plant....

    Looks like it is probably correct though last I heard, the correct name was Prosthechea cochleata alba. (Btw, Max, the correct spelling with a species is to only capitalize the genus name as above. )

    So the current name is Prstechea and not Encyclia if that is the case then I'll change the name on the tag.

    What a nice looking floral raceme Jose, this is the first flowering on my plant so hopefully it will be more spectacular next year.

    Dont worry max, i personally refuse to accept Prosthecea, Encyclia sounds so much better, and is easier to spell!
