    Default Blc. Young Kong 'Orchis'



    This is a big, gangly cat that had 2 blooms a few weeks ago and today I found these two on the back of the plant. They are not oriented very well but I think they are pretty.

    Very nice orchid. I thought there was a difference when I looked at the pic. This cat' is listed in a new catalog, the lip isn't as yours. Research found this... ( as per all other pics on web )

    From what I've found, "Orchis" has a "yellow/green lip with a red 'V' shape stripe down the centre.

    I posted this yesterday but the orientation of the flower was bad. I was able to manipulate it a bit to better show the bloom. I can't comment on the one posters claim that this is mis named, other than to say it was purchased from a highly respected grower.

    Even respected growers make mistakes. The link to the pic I posted has the same flower in a large number of USA websites, this is a pic of the plant "Orchis" direct from the Orchis Nursery catalog. Sorry if I offend, just like corect names on plants.
