    Default Unlucky Coerulea

Heavy rain without a fail everyday almost for the past 3 weeks, resulting in broken coerulea spikes.Unable to support many flowers, so sad the plant cannot display their beauty.

The immature flowers just have to accept their fate.

Sayang, Zainal. What a pity. Anyway you still managed to capture that fabulous colour and tessellations of the blooms.

So sorry, Zain. Looks like this spike was covered with beautiful vanda blooms. Thanks for sharing the photos you were able to take.

    cheers,

So sorry too hear of that, Zain,. Still, after 3 whole weeks of rain, I'm amazed there's anything left to bloom, never mind this beautiful vanda! Just a thought - Sometimes, when I see a plant of mine that has a bloom either suffering, or about ready to finish, I cut the stem, trim off the blooms in the toughest shape, and put it in a vase. Often, it gives me at least another few days to enjoy it. I was thinking that if there are any individual blooms on yours that are basically intact (even if only a few), you could snip them off and float them in a bowl of water. Just an idea - but if it can't survive outside, why not bring that stunning blue indoors for your family to enjoy?

Very unfortunate, Zainal. Would the flowers last longer at this point as cut flowers in a vase?

I agree with Kathi, Such a wonderful blue color. Maybe you can use them inside in a bowl, vase or something. Just so that you and your family can enjoy them a little bit longer.
    Thank you for sharing .

Have you tried splinting the spike? You know, like a broken finger. A small dry bamboo stake tied to the spike. If not, cut it and put it in a vase as somebody suggested. For what I can see it's a very good coerulea!
