It was one of the first Cattleyas I purchased so I've had it about 7 years. It has been divided a couple times since then as well.

Mine finally bloomed in June this year. The petals were a lit bit distorted. First blooming. I read someone else's post that theirs' also were distorted. I hope next blooming the petals will straighten out.

WOW!! Colour flash back to the 80s, I'd want this just because it reminds me of my younger days.

Mine is also misshapen. It has flowered 3 times since last year, and always with the same result.

So sorry to hear that, Yew. Fingers crossed that mine is only a once off (hopefully because of something I have done).Name: fingers_crossed.gif

I should wait for Amey to weigh in on this, but I can't help but think that, between Yew's experience and yours, the issue is genetic. I know tht when some classes of paphs are interbred with others of a different class, the outcome can often yield misshapen or weak, stunted offspring. But there are, on the other hand, peloric phals, which, I believe are just freak occurrences. I'll wait on Amey to sort this out, though.
