Default Beautiful green floofy needs a name...

Hopefully, the uploader will let me post these photos now. This orchid has the most heavenly smell - I'm almost in paradise (need to know what it is before I can actually get there)

B digbyana crossed with something so that it's not quite so frilly?

I thought something like that - now to find out what the actual parentage is!

I wonder if it could be Rlc. Greenwich 'Misty Lime'.....

It's not Greenwich but looks more like a primary or near primary hybrid with Rl. digbyana.

Default Another photo of the green floofy

Maybe this will help give you a better idea of what it looks like - I measured the blooms and they are at least 8" wide - which is 20 cm.

You might try googling "Digbyana x" and checking out the images. But the differences between sibs might make it impossible to tell for sure. The picture looks like there is some yellow on both the lip and the petals.

I am thoroughly confused about this by now. The blooms are getting to be a lighter chartreuse as they age, but I think the yellow comes more from some ambient incandescent light - it's raining out today, so I can't really get it in natural light - or i suppose I could if I wanted to play around for the next 6 hours - I'm still not very swift with this camera....

Other than being a dibyana cross, I can't help. Good luck with the "hunt".

I love green cattleyas. They are starting to become one of my favorite.
