    Default Chz. Dogashima Paradise 'Strawberry'

The RHS really had fun changing this one. It used to be a Potinara - Now it's a Cahuzacara - parentage is Rlc. Gordon Siu x Bsn. Makai. It is comprised mostly of Gur. bowringiana, B. nodosa, and C. dowiana. It's a neat little compact plant, and the blooms are only about 3" across, but I wouldn't call it a mini-catt.

I'm including 2 closeup shots because the first has better composition, but it makes the blooms seem opaque - the second shows the translucency.

I bet Santa put coal in those taxonomists' stockings!

Nice flowers. I find it quite interesting that the dorsal sepal and only the dorsal sepal (if appearances on my monitor are not deceiving) has a rather prominent pale/?white? patch running up the middle.

I reviewed the photos posted here, and indeed, you are correct; however, in real life all the sepals have that pattern, although it is not quite as pronounced in all. I have the breakdown of its lineage and, were I, or anyone else, so inclined might be able to trace this particular trait - When and if I do, I'll let you know.

    Indeed a neat little plant.
I specially like the color. Not much Strawberry like, but attractive.
