Such a cheery, bright color. I can see why you had to have this cattleya orchid!

    Cheers,

Mmm. Nice- Roy this in this foto the leaves have a bluish tint... is it just the foto or does the foliage really have a farinacious covering like the not-totally-unrelated Encyclia vitellina? If it turns out to be scented, please let us know! Say Roy- What part of OZ are you to need a greenhouse mate? NSW? Vic? I didn't realise anyone needed a GH down under, only shade houses. But I only go to QLD where my best mate and his new family are. Keep meaning to widen the horizon, but just QLD on its own is so BIG!

I reckon camera flash has a lot to do with the colors. I found another pic of this and its more ochre in color. Just as good though.
I'm in Victoria, western half. Need the greenhouse in winter, gets a bit too cool. Summer is not a problem. Qld can be the same, the further west you go there the colder in winter it gets also. Central Australia can get to minus temps also.
