    Default Dendrobium Nobile question

I'm pretty sure this is a Den Nobile. This is 5 yrs old and is the first flowering on this plant. My questions are 1. Why didn't it lose it's leaves before flowering and 2. Is it normal for it to grow in a cascading manner? All the Nobiles that I've seen have been upright. Should I stake it after it loses it's flowers, or leave it alone? Help me please oh wise ones!

Looks just like a dendrobium orchid we had here for many years. Ours finally got so unruly, I cut it up and gave it away.

    cheers,

Thanks for the replies guys, but I still don't know for sure what it is. I still have the same questions. 1. Why didn't it lose it's leaves before flowering and 2. Is it normal for it to grow in a cascading manner? All the Nobiles that I've seen have been upright. Should I stake it after it loses it's flowers, or leave it alone? Help me please oh wise ones!

I think maybe it had plenty of water and didn't need to lose leaves. This pendulous kind needs dry resting period before flowering, and that is when it loses leaves. Just guessing...

    I like the flowers
