Goodness, Connie - and I thought I had some monstrously large catts - but NOTHING that compares to yours. It's a good thing you warned us about how much room it takes up, because I would be hunting for it right now. I have to restrain myself from staring at such a gorgeous bloom, or my resistance will wear out! And a fragrance too! Heaven....

Really nice Connie. I have to ask a rookie question. Should it be repotted once finished blooming or is that how they should grow? I only have exp with mature Phal's.

This one would normally get repotted as it starts growing new pbulbs and roots. However, there are two more sheaths to go, so i'm likely to find a clay pot to sit this pot into until I can get it repotted. And I would love to take credit for the plants' size...but i'm afraid it came super sized. lol Sometimes the plants I order don't look huge online, then when they arrive i'm suprised. However, I have the room for them and kinda get a kick out of growing the abnormal giant things.

Oh, I have lusted over this one! I stared at its pictures, constructed several combined shipping wish lists around it, watched every one of the big specimens sell (the prices some folks will pay!), but in the end, it just seemed too large and I'm already struggling to provide enough light for a few catts that are too big for my shelves. If it had been a few inches shorter, I would have been right there bidding!

    Lovely, Connie!

There are some amazing smaller cattleya that have nearly the same size flower with out the big bulky plant. Zul is a very lovely flower, but if I weren't nutty over huge plants I probably wouldn't get this one. For some reason the larger the pbulb...the bigger the overall plant...the more I want one. lol I don't know...if I keep this up i'm going to need to a bigger greenhouse!

Ha, ha, Connie. I know how you can make room--gather up all the catts that are too dainty to strike your fancy and I'll trade you for my big oafs who won't fit under the lights.

Lovely color(s) and a bonus of having fragrance. What more could you want?
