Not much to say about this ; a plant "in recovery" after a drastic repot into S/H last year, but the fact that it flowers, even if the flowering is only a pale shadow of what it could be, shows it is going i the right direction ; I can't ask for more.

Very pretty, BUT, I don't think it's a Fireball because fireball looks much different, or is this a different cultivar??

Orchidwiz shows 3 different Fireballs, as well as Fireball Beauty and Fireball Fame , all in the Cattleya group.
One is a Cattleya - C. Comet x C ( ex L) tenebrosa , one is a Catcyclia ( a new one on me ! ) Cty Easter x C. Sunset Glow , and the third is Epc = Epicattleya which is C ( ex L.) cinnabarinum x C. Lutata = and the pic in Orchidwiz looks just like this flower of mine. So I don't know what yours is like, but this appears to be the real McCoy !

You must be thinking of something different; this looks pretty much like Fireball to me.

Nice save, Geoff - and with all the crazy name-changing going on, you have to love an orchid with a catchy name like "Epicat"!
