I have the BLC Norman's Bay 'Low' here. A beauty for certain.

    cheers,

I do like my floofage, lol!

I am not sure if I have Norman's Bay, I may have or at least I thought I did. Glad your Horace is ready to bloom Cathy.

I want to start making some crosses of some of the old ones I have. I do have one with a couple of seeds pods on it and it would be fun to come up with some of my own crosses. I wish I had something else really big to cross with the one above, but I have nothing right now although a selfing would not be bad.

Would love to see pictures of it, Bruce. Norman's Bay were notorious here for being reluctant bloomers. How's yours?

It seems to bloom every fall, Yew Sung. I don't know if it is blooming currently or not, but will check when I can. I watered in there on Saturday, but didn't really look at any tags.

EDIT: I just looked to see if I posted it recently and I did: Here it is under its new name: Rhynchosophrocattleya Norman's Bay 'Low's' FCC/RHS AOS

    cheers,
    BD

Pat, you can always store pollen for later use. If stored fell pollen is viable for more than 6 months. Just remove the pollinia with a toothpick as you would for crossing. Then carefully put them in a small wax paper envelope, the one we get for seeds etc. Note the date and name of the plant and then put this envelope in another bigger paper envelope. Store it in a dry section of the fridge.
