    Wonderful blooms! I like the shape...Perhaps this particular plant is a result of using the wild form of coerulea(?). It's shape is more dynamic than that of the 'domesticated'.

    Very pretty, Cathy. The shape reminds me very much of the coerulea parent and I can see the Aerides spur in the third picture.

    The plant foliage looks like Aer. The spur is there I just need to take a better picture.
    Mr. Byrd had a particularly nice V. coerulea. I'm pretty sure the cross came from that original coerulea. He also selfed that coerulea and the offspring were and are fabulous. I have a couple. They are good in the Florida heat, as well.
    I will get a ruler when I'm back home.

    I would guess about 24 inches tall (its a division off the mother). This one is on hanger and it likes growing almost upside down. I've had it for a couple of years.
