This orchid has seven huge pink flowers on it this year. The blooms are held very high on the plant. It also has a wonderful sweet fragrance. It spent all year in an area of my patio where it didn't get very good light. I'm suprised that it bloomed so well.

Wonderful cattleya, Jeff. Reminds me of my Irene Holguin "Brown Eyes." Does it have a nice fragrance? Betty

This is why I buy cattleyas even when I know I can't grow them - quick question - how low IS the light on them - I have 4 on my deck under an eaves, but they spent the winter inside and I doubt the outdoor vacation will make up for it.

My cattleyas are outdoors all year long. This one was in an area that I would call bright shade. If you have a spot that gets some direct sun in the early morning or late afternoon that can help. I'm sure that being outdoors during the summer will be good for your catts especially if you have some late summer or early fall bloomers. The air movement outdoors is good for them also. Good luck.
