    Default Cattleya time

I guess it truely is Catt. time. Here are several currently blooming for me plus a Max. cross.

Cattleya mossiae - 6 open blossoms and 6 buds
3 years I have waited for flowers. Last year I extended the high light period for this plant, I had read that people in the UK often have trouble blooming it on extra cloudy years. Wonderful scent.

This is Cattleya Chocolate Drop, gave me 14 blossoms on two spikes this year. Great scent.

Max. tenuifolia crossed with Max. sanguinea. The sanguinea gives a great red to the flower.Name: 015.JPG

Cattleya intermedia, great little plant with big blossoms.

Thanks everyone. Catts. are my favorite. I have been working on them the last several years and am finally having some luck with them.

Lots of light, fertilize in active growth only, warmth and water weekly. This past winter I devised a system to ensure only those in active growth got lots of water and food, those in dormancy got much less water and no food. A green tongue depressor in the pot means active growth, a red tongue depressor in the pot means dormant. This saved a lot of roots from rotting.
