So sorry to hear about the detached retina, Geoff. I'm sure it'll heal nicely. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery and hope you'll be back with us soon.
Me - I've a worse problem, macular degeneration in my left eye and have only about 10 percent sight left. The doctors are trying to save my right eye by giving me eyedrops for it and hope that they'll be able to prolong the sight for as long as possible. Unfortunately there's no cure or operation for it and the doctors can only hope to slow down the degeneration.

hen the plants came back today I learnt that my Vanda Pacheras Delight "Midnight Magic" won a trophy as best something or other -but this was a second hand report as I was resting at the time. I will hear more when I next get to my Society I hink, although I will have a search on the OSGB web-site for the show results and may get the info sooner.

Renantheras are lovely, do they need more light and water than vandas?

Love love love your vandas. I am a huge fans of Vanadaceae. Ren citrina was simply stunning. I have one that is about 8" tall, and haven't bloom in two years. What's ur culture for this specie??

I hang them up, with the Vandas - grow them i the same heat and light, but use a much smaller bark size, with some sphagnum moss included; sprayed daily - even twice daily in hot weather, and maybe only every other day in dull winter conditions. The spray is just rain water . Occasionally I dunk in a bucket of nutrients - or at present when I can't spend very much time in the greenhouse, I put a canful of nutrients into the spray tank occasionally.
