    hahahahah - 1900!! When I bought these they just had the cross on the tag. But it was more like 2007. Gosh that would Have made me 112.

    A pic on the net has the same color but schroderae is definitely apparent in the flower.
    Roy,

    Cattleya G. S. Ball is a cross in between C. schroederae and C. cinnabarina.

    Cathy's plant has C. cinnabarina as the seed parent. The seed parent usually is dominant and shows this in their offspring.

    Other nurseries may have used C. schroederae as the seed parent. The possibility to get from this cross plants with more traces from C. schroederae is a fact.

    Although within the offspring from either cross we will get plants with more or less traces from each of the parents. In this case plants are not different than humans.
