    Cool Ascofinitia Cherry Blossom 'Carmela'

I have two of these, this one I bought and the other was given to me. This one popped out three spikes for it's first blooming. I can't wait for future bloomings when the blooms won't all be in the roots. lol I'm keeping an eye on the other one...I cannot tell if it is spiking or getting keikei's...but it is doing something. We shall see...

Pretty color! Those are some healthy looking roots. You must be taking very good care of it.

Three spikes! She looks very happy with you...

    Connie,
I just bought one last month. Do you leave it outside through summer? I am wondering if it can stand 100 degree heat? Thanks.

Actually; my vanda and mounts are in the greenhouse right now. I had them outside and all my spikes were barely growing. I decided to put them back into the greenhouse when we had a cool patch and now that they are getting up to 95 every day they are all growing leaves, roots and looking super happy. I have to spray for fungus, etc a little more often, but they are all thriving out there. They will be moved shortly, back outside as we are starting to hit the 90's in the afternoon and I have a corner with high air movement they like. The trick with letting them get hot is watering several times a day and really really good air movement. And yes, nearly all of my plants stay outside all summer...even the phals.
