    Default Dendrobium igneoniveum

    Species from Sumatera just discovered recently very free flowering at lowland the pseudobulb may reach up to 2 feet. It is under section formosae very closed to the nearest cousin Dendrobium cruentum

    This is small plant of Dendrobium cruentum rewarding me only one flower you can see the different with the above species. Is not that easy to differentiate at first glance.

    Finally managed to shot the 2 species together for the comparison.Thanks for looking to improve our knowledge especially for the new species here.

    Wait until some serious taxonomist correct that, but this plant is related to toppianum and cruentum, and is absolutely NOT dendrobium igneoniveum, for many reasons ( Smith mentions a kidney shaped, 2.8 wide x 1.9cm lenght mid lobe on the lip, where that cruentum type midlobe is not kidney shaped, and is maybe 1.9 wide x 2.8 long..., but there are other reasons).

    That's absolutely the real igneoniveum here:

    Hi Roth I agree with you I will wait till I get the correct name I already Google and noted some of them debating about this species as you mention in other thread above, so far they never come into the final conclusion but very interesting scientifically.Thanks again I like it.
